Mixed-up brick

I got today a well scrambled-up brick of 5$ notes. There was 10 paper-stapped 100-notes bundles tied with the usual nylon strap.  There is many ranges, all with the prefix  HOK:  9595***, 9597***, 9598***, 9599***, and many others in the 96***** range. (see my other post int the High/low thread). It's as someone has dropped an entire stack of cut bricks of notes and scrambled out the notes before reassembling them in 1000-notes bricks, regardless of the numerical order in which they come...

I didn't find any insert, but I'm wondering that if in a case of mixed-up numbers taken out from many ranges, is there any need to put "insert notes"?

Remember that the "inserts" or replacements were used to keep 1000 notes in a brick numbered from ****000 to ****999 in the case where one or more spoiled notes were taken out  and substituted.  But if the CBN put together any note from different range, to make a 1000-notes brick, there is no more need to use insert, because the serial numbers is meaningless to keep the account of notes in the brick.  I think that's maybe the definitive end of the "insert" notes... .

The CBN was doing this with $10s from the new Journey Series.  There still were inserts in them, despite the fact that that the bundles were all over the map.  See my other post on those findings here in regards to FER inserts (which I have found none since):

Inserts and QCINs have been found together, so still keep your eyes peeled for the 000-001 and 500-501 sections for CBN notes out of bricks.

With HOH 2005, CBN, began cutting 250 sheets at a time and using 4 piles to make a brick. Low HOJ continued the same way with inserts found between 250 - 251 and 750 - 751.

BABN started mixed range bricks, I beleive, somewhere in the high BEV prefix. Looks to me like BABN began having some major problems resulting in 2 - 25% error rates. I base the error rate on 4 recent bricks.

BEW 0955 - 2.8%
BEW 7160 - 9.0%
BEW 8171 - 23.4%
BEW 8219 - 16.4%

I beleive BABN realised that replacing massive numbers of ruined notes using their old system would no longer work and decided to suspend the use of inserts.

A few of us are trying to figure out exactly what they are doing. Will post our findings as soon as we have something to add.
