As most forum members know, I am a brick searcher and was wondering if we couldn't have an area list of phone numbers and birthdates. I would love to send someone a message that i have either for them. I return birthday notes to the bank many times and wonder if some forum member just lost an interesting note for them. I have a birthday note for myself and just missed a few weeks ago my telephone number. That would have been nice to get. ANy suggestions or am i asking for too much personal information that members are reluctant to give.. Any ideas ????

I think this is a fabulous idea. Would a stickied post in the Trading Post fulfill this need? Members can reply to the post saying which numbers to look for, and the Trading Post moderators can compile those replies into a list in the first post something like this:

[spreadsheet]Number°Requested By
0161976°Fenian
0251968°CDNmooha
1061947°CDNmooha
1061976°Fenian
1161975°CDNmooha
1171925°eyevet
1251953°eyevet
1281993°eyevet
1341952°eyevet
2811993°eyevet
4131952°eyevet
4740734°Fenian
5121953°eyevet
5441944°Fenian
6111975°CDNmooha
6160128°eyevet
6204672°eyevet
7111925°eyevet
7292004°Fenian
8299444°eyevet
[/spreadsheet]

This would serve as a community-wide wanted list for specific serial numbers.

If you like the idea, now is the time to massage it into the perfect solution that suits people the best.

Well, I'd love to get one for myself and maybe if lucky also for a friend's 30th birthday coming up this year!

Also a couple of notes for my parents - of course the notes would have to be lot older like 1954 for one.

the numbers I'm looking for:

0251968
1161975
6111975
1061947

I'll need to re-confirm on few ones to list later.  Thanks for sreaching the notes for members here!

Many times, at shows, there are collectors looking for birthday notes and phone number notes.

They have value only to those that fit the description.

Give me a run down on how the birthday notes should be read.

July 3, 1988, 07031988, or in the new era, 19880703. Phone numbers are fairly obvious, such as 318-7050.

Is there an established format for birthday notes?

what  ever format get's you the numbers work rick. The problem with your post rick is that you are using 8 digits instead of the normal 7. Have you begun to print your own money now ??? Can I place an order for the new money??  hehehehe   My birthday note reads 7141954. july 14th, 1954. Since they are hard to find, even harder then radars, any combination works. so 1954714 works also. The accepted fprmat usually is either ddmmyy or yymmdd like you suggested. Birthday notes are specific to a collector and have no value to the community as a whole but are just personal treasures we all find interesting and conversation pieces. Same for phone numbers. I guess I will have to start keeping birthday notes and a list of phone numbers and try to find them for other forum members. Hopefully, we can make a section for reference and we can all help each other out. It took me three years to get my birthday note and that was through a friend. But i got one. So don't despair if you want one. they do exist.    I am glad other forum members liked my idea. By the way i am still looking for 6877242 or 7320852 or 7329927 or 3127764. These are my phone numbers. ANd for birthdays, still looking for 5161954 or 1954516     Thanks    Marv.

I think Brent's idea of posting a wanted list under "The Trading Post" is the best  method of going about serving members needed serial numbers. I know I've been looking for a 1956 numbered note, with any combination of days or months, for over 6 years with no luck :(. If any member is looking for: 1958, 1975 and 1997, I have these years available on 1991 20.00's :). Just send me a PM if you are interested or if you have a 1956 note for sale 8).

Thought that I'd give you all members who are looking for birth year 1986.  I have one 1954 note with number 09211986 - Sept 21st 1986.  This note I have is in Fine condition.

PM me if one of you had been looking for this specfic birthdate.  Thanks!  :)

pedant
1.one who emphasizes trivial points of learning, showing a scholarship lacking in judgment
2. a narrow-minded teacher who insists on exact adherence to rules

The words "to," "too," and "two" all sound the same but have different meanings.

And, while I'm at it, "its" is the possessive of "it."
"It's" is a contraction of "it is" or "it has."

Guess I answered my own question. I'll shut up now.
