I'm probably on the wrong site but I am not a collector and have found an old one dollar banknote from 1841 from the Niagara Suspension Bridge Bank.  I don't know how to find out any information on it.  I found this site and hope someone may be able to direct me.  All that I know is it was a private bank 1837 to 1841 I think and there was a branch in Chippawa in the late 1830's.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

By information, do you mean "price"?
The latest Charlton catalogue, soon to be replaced, lists $35 for Good condition (which really is kind of bad, but a whole note, heavily worn); $70 for Very Good, $120 for Fine, $200 for Very Fine (clean and white, just a few folds).  It is probably reasonable to expect a modest increase when the new book comes out later this year some time.
I hope this is some use.

Thanks Bob - it is in pretty good shape, the edges are curled slightly - found it with a 1862 confederate one dollar bill - we will frame them to keep for future generations!! Thanks for the quick reply .
