I just wanted to know what these would be worth, not expecting alot. I'm doing a school project and i just wanted to get a idea. someone came into a gas station i worked at a few months back and bought cigs with them. (sorry i know the photo is bad)

Hello Persists,

Welcome to the website.   With regards to the notes that you posted, they are worth just face value - $3.  The reason being, the condition of the notes aren't that great.  They are really used, folded, etc.  Had they been brand new and never used, you'd be looking in the $20 range for both.   For many people, they just hold on to them for keepsake momentos of the old days when Canada had the $1 and $2 bills rather than loonies and toonies.

If these are your first 1 and 2 dollar notes. It's nice to have bills that are now coins. They are not worth more then face value but you can show them to people that know nothing about Canadian money. It's funny to see people's faces when you show them a note thats common for us collectors.  :)
