This is a question for a moderator (BWJM?)

Perhaps there were that many "inactive" accounts/members, and there's an automatic suspension of membership when remaining inactive? Comments? :-/

probably just got rid of members that posted once or none in the past year it would lower the amount of space that all those people that do not come here take up on ther server and slows the site down

Yes, stevepot99 is correct. I deleted users who had not logged on in a year. We sent an email to everyone affected and of the 500, I got 5 emails asking why and only 1 re-registered.

We needed the space and that seemed the best.

I'm in the same boat. I do read this often, it is invaluable for Canadian Paper Momey collectors. If inactive members need to be culled, then so be it.

It doesn't take much to log on and contribute from time to time
(just my virtual 2 cents!)
If you're bored... try the poll thread... ;D

Speaking to hear ones self speak is never a great option under any circumstance. Posing is not required in order to be on the active list (I wouldn't think). The administrator of this site (probably) needed resources, he or she went in and ran a query that was (likely) based on last login time and culled any account that was not used in the last x number of months. I read far more than I post, but the key to staying active is merely logging into the site. If a person shows up once or twice a month and logs into the site, then it is highly unlikely they'd ever make the inactive list. If someone doesn't log in for a year, how really interested are they in paper money collecting (special circumstances aside).

On this subject, Paul_in_North_Bay passed away in early July, thus he will not be posting again.
