I got 2 nice HOW notes today in circ. Both are
decent for circ. I don't know the high insert ranges
for the prefix. But I remember hearing there are.

HOW 8324386 EF-AU
HOW 9671176 EF

Are either of these inserts ?
Also the 2nd one is a mini radar. Do people really collect that ?

Thank you in advance

Hi Buxvet,
I would hold on to the high one until we get more information.  It is very close to my numbers - reported after the most recent update.

Further HOW insert ranges have been reported since the last letter.  They appear to be quite scarce as of this point.

Agreed! Good finds. These notes fall inbetween other known Inserts that have been found..

I think 9.996 is the highest Insert known so far.  :-/ Huds may be able to shed some light on this....  ;)

Even still, these notes are still considered to be rare.

I have been away for a year and have to start over with everyone here on this site as my account became deleted. I understand though.

HOW Inserts,
This is the exact way I found them;

First Bundle;
HOZ5582971-983-Then How9982691-696-Then HOZ5582990-2999-Then HOZ5585250-5296
Then -HOW9985001-009-Then HOZ5585306-320-Then HOW9985198-9985009 with How9985197 missing.

Second Bundle;
HOZ5582771-796 Then HOW9982501-509 Then HOZ5582806 (by itself) Then HOW9982698/699-Then HOW9982500 Then HOZ5582810-870

Third Bundle;
HOZ5597921-7983 Then HOW9997691-696 Then HOZ5597990-999 Then HOZ5598250-8270

and of course found 2 radars. So I guess I have the new Insert high (HOW9997696)
Not bad for having the afternoon off.

Note: I found a few of the HOZ's right next to the HOW's that had definite Serial errors or very bad blurrs. For example one HOZ looks very nice with thick ink, the very next numbered note was very light ink and the right serial number is very blurred.

I didn't know whether I was allow to show the scan of this HOZ in this HOW section.
This could be the reason these HOW inserts where used in HOZ.

The confirmed insert range for HOW has been expanded in Gilles Pomerleau's November newsletter:

HOW      9.840M - 9.999M           160K
