I would like to know what numbers on a 1979 note are considered when assessing for a RADAR note?

Do you ignore the "denomination", "printer", and "series" numbers, and recgonize only the last 7 numbers? Or does a true RADAR encompass all 11 numbers?

I've looked in the Charleton, and unless I've missed it, I can't seem to find an explanation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

:) :)

1979 series, 5.00 and 20.00 dollars

first didgit represents the denomination:
3 is for the 5.00
5 is for the 20.00

2nd didgit represents the printer:
0, or 2, CBN
6 is the BABN - only the 20s have two printers

the next two digits are the series numbers

the last 7 represent the serial number.

In theory you can have both radars and "super" radars.

30000000003 would be a super radar ..
5.00 note, from the CBN, 00 series, serial nr 0000003

a normal radar might be:
30021239321

and so on; hope this helps

general rule: just look at the last 7 didgits

and if you have one and are willing to sell, please let me know..

Here is an ebay auction that I was bidding on:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3906656110&category=3429&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBBI%3AIT&rd=1

It was a 1979 UNC RADAR note.

I was leading with a modest bid, but then was outbid by someone whom I've NEVER seen on "Canadian money" on ebay before. Although their rating is low, they have won items that are nowhere near bank notes.
FRUSTRATING as this makes me suspicious as to why all of a sudden an interest in THIS note!!  ???  >:(

I tried to outbid in the last minute, but lost out. But fortunately, I lost to a third ebayer bidding at the last minute who also enjoys notes.   :P

Oh well...my search for a '79 radar continues.  :-/
