here is a rough guideline of what the note is worth, but you have to make your own choice on purchasing,

$1 (English Text) Letter B  BC-1b

VG 40
F 65
VF 120

The auction says it is VF, I'm not sure about this...

From the look of the scan, that is at best a Fine in my world Marc-Andre Roy.

Always exciting to purchase your first 35,these are my favourite notes, you may wanna go ahead.

I do not wish to take away from the seller, but if you decide that note is not for you,I have a far nicer 1935 $1 B series that I will let you have for, lets say $50 bucks and shipping. It is far far cleaner than the note you're looking at.
One side is EF,the other looks more VF.The note was over-graded,bought by my wife.
Cost her about $180 at the time.If interested I'll dig it out of the safety deposit box just to confirm what I've said above.

$45 plus postage sounds like a good deal. Too bad we cannot see the note.

Finally found the note Marc-Andre,not so easy when you have to search over a 1000+ notes while in the safety deposit viewing room, lol.Bank employees start to give you looks as you take longer and longer with each visit, one had me there an hour!

Yeah, I get those looks too!  They probably think I'm in there looking at my stash of porn or something!  ;D
