If the note has a varnish, you can erase ink markings off.  I've tried it and it works.  Thank god the BoC put varnishes on the fives and tens now.

Most unfortunate that blood, source not revealed, wipes off too easily but not entirely.

By the way, could I label this as a shoulder note, even though I don't have the radar (which probably doesn't exist anymore)?

Looks as if it's almost an inside job somewhere along the way before it got to you Huds. 
Maybe remember the prefix and wait for this note to pop up of ebay or some auction. Or it could be floating around town still.
The 1110111 is nice though.
