Solid numbers are very rare, but not impossible to come by. The odds of finding a solid number in the same prefix are about one in a million. The odds of finding a solid number 9999999 in a prefix are one in ten million.
I remember back in 2000, I came across a $5 note with the serial number GPT7777717. I remember this when I was selling raffle tickets for charity. If that one would have been a seven, I would have definitely traded my $5 bill for that one, but then, maybe not, because it was not in good shape.
For solid numbers in a prefix to be worth more, the note would have to be crisp or in pretty good shape.
Now, for finding a 9999999 solid number note, the note may be at the end of a bundle, so it might have a bank stamp or some trifling signs of handling, so it might not be in that good shape. But, you never know - someday you might be able to come across a crisp 9999999 solid number note - someday, eventually.
And that's my 9.999999 cents worth (maybe!)
Bye for now,
Jonathan
