More proof, specimen and a few issued items printed by the American Bank Note Company will be sold by H.R. Harmer on June 2-4, 2008. Here are the details of the printed catalogue:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13963&item=120266142794

And here is the online (eBay Live) portion of the catalogue that contains the Canadian material:

The supply of this type of non-issued proof/specimen material seems endless. Give me a real issued note any day!

I believe this Commerce material is from one of the ABN co lots from the original Christie's sale. In that sale some lots had several hundred progress proofs in them so naturally there will be many of these eg for the Canadian Bank of Commerce. However some banks had very few proofs in the lots so for the proofs it depends on the bank.

Judging from the sale prices in the Harmer sale at double catalog value or more, it seems that the market for proofs is alive and well even for the black and white proofs.
