Hi all. I am sending off a batch of notes to be graded by BCS later this week. This is my first time doing this, so I was wondering if I could get some helpful advice regarding the shipping process. Which couriers insure paper money in transit?

I know that Canada Post and Purolator don't. Which service would you recommend? UPS or FedEx?

Another question would be, what is the best way to pack them? I was thinking a large padded envelope, with each note in a mylar sleeve and a hard cardboard holder, with the extra space in the envelope filled with newspaper or packing peanuts.

I am looking at sending ~10 notes to be graded.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Fenian

Hi Fenian,
I would omit the peanuts and just put the 10 notes in separate mylar folders between 2 pieces of heavy cardboard in a padded envelope and send it express post. I would not worry about losing it in the mail , but if you are then send it fedex.
I just had some done by BCS and what I do is drop them off in person when I see him at a show ,then  i pick them up the next day since i only live 30 minutes away.
Saves postage both ways of about $25
Hope this helps,
Ken
