10 cent shinplaster

I need some help. I saw what I presumed to be a 10cent Canadian note. All my research has led me to believe that the only fractional notes are the 25cent notes. Can anyone tell me if what I saw was real and rare, or possibly just a fake?

Canada has only ever issued 25 cent fractional notes. If I recall correctly though, the United States once issued 10 cent notes, but I could be mistaken as I know very little about that subject.

The united states have indeed issued (in their national currency) a 10¢ fractional note, they issued one in 1862, 2 issues in 1863 and a final issue in 1874. They all appear to quite scarce.
Also they have issued within the same years 3¢, 15¢, 25¢ and 50¢ as well. Really cool!

perhaps what you have seen was a college script?
