If you're a CPMS member, you will know that over the past couple of years, we've been through a few dry spells in terms of having enough content for the Newsletter.

We always encourage and welcome new articles for the Newsletter. They can be on any topic related to Canadian Paper Money, but we've been known to stray into the foreign material from time to time. Articles can be of a research nature, or a simple "show and tell". They can be fun, or they can be serious. It's up to you!

The CPMS Newsletter has won the CNA award for the Best Regional/National Newsletter for as long as I can remember, including this year. On behalf of Bob Graham and the CPMS, I accepted the award at the CNA Convention in Ottawa. You can be a part of this award-winning publication too!

CPMS members will also be familiar with a few regular features of the Newsletter:
- President's Message and Editorial
- New members
- New prefixes by Gilles Pomerleau
- Members' Classifieds
Other publications including Canadian Coin News, and the CN Journal also have regular features including columns from members. I would like to suggest that we do the same. I'm calling upon the members of this forum to see if you can think of a topic that would create an interesting regular column in the Newsletter.

To get the ball rolling, here's a few ideas:
- Interesting items on eBay or found at recent coin shows
- Error note varieties
- Profiles of "note"worthy people
- Some kind of a numismatic game, riddle, brain teaser, crossword, sudoku, etc.
- Notes from around the world
- New issues of bank notes worldwide
- Old bank branches

Ideally, articles should be at least 1/2 page in length, and images are always helpful. Regular feature columns should plan for one article per Newsletter, lasting at least 4 issues.

If you are interested in submitting an article, you can email the Editor at newsletter@cpmsonline.ca. You can also discuss ideas for regular feature columns with the Editor, or here on the forums.

Writing an article for the CPMS Newsletter is a great way to help yourself become known throughout the community. Although writing an article is certainly no requirement, if you are ever interested in a more active involvement with the CPMS such as being a regional director or a member of the Executive Committee, if people know who you are, it can't hurt!

PS: We're also looking for someone who may be interested in giving a presentation at next year's CPMS Luncheon and General Meeting at the RCNA Convention in Edmonton, Alberta. If you are interested, please email the President at president@cpmsonline.ca.

Here's another idea, a revival of an old one... "In the Marketplace", a quarterly review of recent auctions giving highlights including prices, bidding activity, etc.

Anyone interested in becoming a regular columnist for the Canadian Paper Money Newsletter?
