Dear Friends:
The issued 1911 $500 note (serial 010303) shown in your Forum has a BROWN tint on its obverse, whereas both 1st and 5th Charltons (the only two I have) both say it should have a GREEN tint.  Whish is correct: the note or Charlton??
Also, the 1925 $500 shown in your Forum  has an obverse BLUE tint, whereas 1st and 5th Charlton both say it has a BROWN tint.  Again:  which is correct??
Anybody have images of issued $500 notes???    Thanks to all.               Newcomert

Check out the Heritage Long Beach Auction from September 2008. A 1911 DC19 $500 sold for $320,000. Color is brown.
