Rarity of EOH notes

Does anyone know why both EOH (Yellow, blue BPN) are so rare? I mean the yellow BPN is worth $225 in GEMUNC with 2,600,000 printed but the blue BPN had 7,400,000 printed yet its now priced at $775 in GEMUNC. Has there been any documentation on EOH notes. Are the blue BPN ones really that hard to find? I do own an EOH Yellow BPN but i have yet to find an EOH Blue BPN in decent shape.

Does anyone have any guesses to the surviving populations of blue and yellow EOHs? This subject has been bought up before but so far I still haven't heard of any hard data on this prefix.

Maybe it would be a nice idea to start a new registry for the EOH yellow plate and blue plate in the wiki site...

In don't know how rare EOH blue plate is, but according to the price, it seems so...

Sometimes a note has a large print run, but if only a few colletors keep them, they become rare and if something special turns up after the fact, then they become in short supply.

I never saw any crisp EOH notes in my region back in the day. 'Twas a rare prefix indeed.

Yes perhaps thats why they are expensive notes today being a "hidden" changeover prefix that is from yellow to blue BPN... who would have ever noticed that back in 1987?
