I always enjoy seeing pictures/scans of peoples notes from their own collections.  Some of notes notes posted here are quite WOW...  Makes me jealous.. :)

I thought I would share some of my Favourites..

I hope this is ok?  I love seeing "real" notes that actually exist.. I have seen a few on here that I have Never seen except being a number in the Charlton book.

If anyone is interested in sharing some of your fravorites in your collection feel free to add on to this.  I know some people don't like to post what they have etc and that's fine.

Here are 3 of my Favorites in my collection.

1. 1912 $5 DOC -  My Newest Aquisition which Even got the Original Title! Yay!

2. 1954 Mod $5 *I/X Replacement

3. 1854 Mod $1 *B/M NO FPN -  2 In Series!  I know not Super Rare but elusive to find.

I hope others will share some of their favorites... if not Enjoy these! :)

Very nice note to have in your collection.  Thx for sharing.  Don't see those too often.

I have an *A/A like the other 2... wanna swap with that unmatching one so you will have 3 of the same? (joke) :)

My own favorite came in from BCS as CUNC62, of course with all its little brothers and sisters.

Woah...! How did you ever get your hands on these?  :o The book says there are only 2 known E/R tests notes. I guess you are the owner of half of them.

Actually the catalogue states on page 268:

"Only one $2 E/R test note has been reported.  It is privately owned"

The note was purchased at the June 2008 Torex show in Toronto from Don Olmstead.

Arthur:

So is this the only one then? Or was there another one that Don sold or is this the one he sold?

I'm just a bit confused with that understanding of the note or notes? I know you will be able to straighten this out for me.. Thanks ahead of time Arthur...

If I may... The GPM21 catalogue refers to one in a private collection before Arthur's note came to light. Thus, there are now two such notes known to exist. That said, the number of the other note is not publicly known, and the identity of the collector remains known to only a few select individuals (I don't even know, but I have a pretty good guess).

Brent is correct.  The 2nd note is in the hands of another collector.  I have been trying to track down contact info for this individual with no success.  I would like to get a scan of the 2nd note for inclusion in the E/R test note registry on the Wiki site.

Ok thanks Brent for clearing that up.  That's what I had thought but I wasn't sure if the one stated in the book was the one that Arthur was showing. So the one in the picture of Arthur's is the only serial number know publicly except a very few people that know of the where abouts of the other one. Thanks again Brent...

Without prying to much!!

Where do these notes sit on the value scale? Where do you even start trying to put a price on such a note where there are only supposedly two notes known?  I can't even begin to think where one would start for a price! What are some opinions on the value of these notes or what has been shown for a value in the past?  Very interesting when you get a situation like this, this is where this hobby takes another turn down an already very windy road......

Jeff: I don't know the price of Arthur's note, and it would be irresponsible of me to give any indication of what he might have paid anyway unless that was already public knowledge. However, hypothetically speaking, if there was no sale history to go on, I would suggest that a reasonable place to start would be the pricing of the G/R test notes.

[edit]Hahaha - I spoke too soon! I just checked the E/R Test Notes Register on the CPMWiki and it records a value of $4,000 for Arthur's note. This would represent the sale price. Sorry for my inadvertent lie in the original version of this post. --BWJM[/edit]

That is where I was heading when I seen your post, but now you have fixed it up.  A great note for sure, that's one thing, I would love to see a scan of the other one someday.  You never know maybe we will.....Arthur is on the hunt >>>------------->

That is a nice 1937 note with serial number 7.  It would go nice with my two 1973 $1.00 notes and one 1954 $1.00 note  ;D.  All 3 with serial number 7.

Cheers
