Original or Extra-Crispy?

I just wanted to get opinions from Members on which note they would buy.  I don't want to start any battles on Orgingal/Pressed/Restored.   That is not the point of this message.

I just want to know what the Members here especially the Serious Collectors think.

Ok..

You have the choice to purchase one of two notes... 

1.  A TPG Graded  a 1935 Series  BOC $20 Note Graded VF-30 Orginal, PPQ, EPQ or whatever the TPG Uses.

2.  A TPG Graded  a 1935 Series  BOC $20 Note Graded EF-45  with NO Original, PPQ, EPQ  grading.  So this note has most likely been Pressed, Cleaned or whatever.

- Both notes have very good eye Appeal. 
- Both notes are being sold for the exact same price.
- Both notes are graded from the same TPG (Doesn't matter which one).

Which note would you buy for your Personal Collection.  You are not buying the note to turn around and sell right away or keep for a year then sell off.  You are going to enjoy it as part of your collection.

ie: Which one would you rather have to look at and show in your collection?

I would personally buy number 1 for the record.

I would prefer the 2nd at EF .

Oh you had to pick this particular note didn't you? On my 'must-own-before-I-die' list too.

Would have to be 1. for me..... 2. If it where Au.

I'll take the original with all it's flaws, character and charm.

Original Recipe, Original Coke, and Original Notes.

Original for myself. 

For my own personal collection and to keep for awhile, I'd go with the EF.

1.  A TPG Graded  a 1935 Series  BOC $20 Note Graded VF-30 Original, PPQ, EPQ or whatever the TPG Uses.

I would definitely pick the Original note especially since without the EPQ or not original could mean a lot of different things.
From first hand experience I purchased a PMG graded note that did not have the EPQ which for some strange reason I missed...it wasn't until about a year later did I notice it (before the wisecracks begin remember the code of conduct please)
when I removed it from my SDB. Anyways I contacted PMG and spoke to a manager there who looked up the graders notes regarding this particular note. 3 graders had viewed the note and 2 out of 3 noted that there was a smell of bleach and they would not give it the EPQ designation.  Obviously once in the holder you would never know...
The bottom line is if you know the note before it gets graded one may be willing to hang onto a pressed note, but not a chemically treated note...
Bottom line is... deal with a reputable dealer and they will always refund your money or try to satisfy the customer...at least in my case...

If it was for my collection I would also pick the original note.

I would like a #1  with a leg and wing please.

Since the catalogue value on the 1935 $20 (BC-9b) is double in EF ($4200) than in VF ($2200),  assuming both notes were at the EF price - I guess I could not see paying a 100% premium or $2000 more for the original VF when buying for my own collection (assuming finite financial resources).   

I think I would go with number 2!  As you are not sure exactly if or what has been done and or if anything was done, I think the value would grow quicker for note 2 over note 1.  This is just my thoughts on the matter, good question gonkman!!
