Hi,
I have been a dedicated poster to these forums since December 2007, and I really enjoyed my time here discussing about my interest in Canadian banknotes, especially the vibrant purple $10 banknotes I have enjoyed for years.
Unfortunately, due to reasons beyond my control, I have to move on to the next chapter of my life. Therefore, I am announcing my retirement from the Canadian Paper Money Forum (and no, this is no April Fool's joke).
Most of my posts do relate to my interest in $5 and $10 banknotes, and I even backed up with valid reasons why the BoC may discontinue the $10 banknote sometime in the next decade. Chances are, it may survive another series, and if the BoC makes the ultimate decision to cancel the $10 banknote, then they can do it.
Banknotes have become less and less interesting to me in recent months, and I haven't received very much in terms of crisp $5 bills at banks since last summer. It is uncertain as to when I will see a crisp Jenkins-Carney signature $5 bill in my region at some point. I have had some J-C $5s in my change, or I received them from banks as already circulated bills. That said, I will focusing my attention on getting $20 banknotes from the ATM on a regular basis (as to me, I realized that $20 banknotes are more the "comfort bills" for me), and if any J-C $5s exist in my hometown, they will come to me in my change.
I will also be phasing out my ritual banking just to change money for smaller denominations in the coming months. I will only go to the bank for getting small denominations once per month, and by the turn of the next decade, my days of anticipating new bills will finally come to an end.
I hope to start off the decade with a clean slate free of stress from anticipating crisp new banknotes from banks. I really had a fun time on these forums, and maybe you'll hear from me on other forums someday.
Thanks,
FogDevil
P.S. I wish to have my username disabled, not banned (but not delete my posts with it) by the middle of April.
