2008 2009 AAB prefixes found.

Found two consecutive AAb five dollar  journeys printed in 2008 or 2009 at casino the other day. THough it was weird cause after the APZ runs out, shouldnot they go to AQA. If anyone knows anymore let me know

Theoretically, you are correct, but the Bank of Canada does not use the letter Q in any of their prefixes for bank notes.  Not sure why since they do use the Letter "O" as the middle prefix letter.

Why do they need to recycle serial numbers?  There are still so many numbers available to use if they just start assigning some new printer letters in the front.  As a side note, can anyone explain the apparent randomness behind their prefix selection.  I can understand not wanting to use "I" because it represents "1", but why print EZI and then skip ELI?  Furthermore, if it's okay to use "I", what's the problem with "Q"?

A double-devil radar note...nice.  ;D

They don't use Q as it there's already O and 0 to deal with.  Plus, I's can be printed with serifs to make them stand out.  Q is the sole letter the BoC has never used.

Now with F on the 10s, only B, C, G, and U are left to be reassigned.  My prediction is that B and C will go to the $5, G will go to the $10, and U to the $20.

Maybe X will make a comeback too?   ???
