I had someone give me one of these in change today (I live in Maine, so we basically took it at face value as we were unsure of the current exchange rate, and I in turn bought it from the register for $2 American).

I'm just trying to figure out if the bill is actually worth anything beyond just the uniqueness of it, and if so if it worth enough not to be relegated to my 'foreign coin box' with my Eisenhower Dollars and assorted other foreign coins that I've taken in change over the years.  Being a bill I may be a little more cautious with it rather than just throwing it in with a bunch of coinage.

The serial is W/R 0809168 and it's in pretty decent shape - no major folding or anything but not being Canadian I can't tell at a glance if there is anything strikingly odd about it or not.  It's signed Beattie-Ramsinski (spelling?) on the bottom and is a 'replacement' bill if I read the site properly ( BC-38bA ).  By the condition I didn't think it was even that old until I noticed how young Queen Elizabeth was and then saw the date.

Thanks if anyone can help!  I can try posting some pics later if I can get my camera to behave itself.

 Hi Jody,

Your note is a regular issue note and not a replacement note. A replacement note would have an * in front of the letters W/R.

Your note is worth between $5 - $10.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

I know it doesn't need any 'special' care now and can join the rest of my coins in the Box now. Heh.  It definitely an interesting bill, so makes a nice little addition to my "Weird Change" collection.
