I know the subject of the image of the lake on the back of the 1954 $100 is disputed, with the Bank of Canada saying it is Okanagan Lake, but others disagreeing.

Have a look at this vista of Okanagan Lake on Google Street View it looks pretty darn close to me.

It looks like the view from the same spot but a little higher up the mountain would reproduce the 1954 $100 almost perfectly.

Yes, several references to the 1954 $100 on the web mention the view from Munson Mountain location.

I found another Google Street view image from higher up the mountain. I am convinced this is Okanagan lake. I have labelled a few of the geographical features on each.

If anyone still cares about the details, the viewpoint of Okanagan Lake on the note (and the Google Street View link above) isn't from Munson Mountain like most web sources say, it's from Mount Campbell.

This is a picture I took myself in Osoyoos in 2001. Looks pretty similar to the view on the bill.
