FRASER, George Victor 1911-2010Passed away peacefully, on November 1, 2010, at Shepherd Lodge, with family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris, daughter Fern (Bruce) Woodruff, Londonderry, NH, son John (Kien) of Boston, MA, daughter Karen (Jack) Eaton of Thornhill, ON and son G. Richard of Scarborough, ON. Grandchildren, Rob (Teresa) Huggins of Richmond, VA, Michael Huggins of Manchester, NH, Ian Woodruff of Londonderry, NH, Angie (Alex) Blake of Canaan, NH, Aaron (Kerri) Eaton of Burlington, ON, David (Barbara) Fraser of Merrimack, NH, Deborah Fraser of Woburn, MA, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. George was pre-deceased by his son Charles Vernon and by brothers Charles and Daniel and sisters Agnes and Frances. George was born on May 24, 1911 in Porcupine, ON and was a survivor of the Porcupine Fire. He served in the RCAF during WWII and while stationed at Gander, Nfld he was privileged to march in the honour guard for Sir Frederick Banting. He worked as a baker at Hunt's Bakery and was known for making wedding and Christmas cakes for friends and family. For most of his working life he was a taxi driver/owner in Toronto.
Visitation will take place between the hours of 11am and 1 pm at Church in the Village at Shepherd Lodge; 3760 Shepherd Avenue E, Scarborough, ON. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Sunnybrook Hospital Oncology and/or Shepherd Village.
