We all know that mutilated notes from the banks get sent to the BOC for destruction. I've always wondered, do you think some of the employees working in that department keep some of the notes for their collection, assuming some of the workers are collectors? I mean they must come across some pretty amazing notes.

I know some notes get pulled from destruction for the BOC museum if they came across a very rare note. For example, if a dozen 1935 $25 French or English notes in AU/UNC came in for mutilation, would the Bank of Canada burn all the notes? Or i.e. some 1937 $50 Osbourne/Towers notes in UNC or a whole bunch of 1954 devil face asterisk notes in AU get burned?
