I just learned that Bank of Canada has made a deal with the Royal Canadian Mint to sell 150 UNC rolls of the $2 replacement "X" Bird Series Notes.   The Mint is going to be giving this as a free gift to their ultra high end buyers who buy an exclusive gold and silver coin set that is being sold for $11,000 (mintage is only 150 sets).  Apparently, these sheets were stored in the BofC vaults after all these years.

Wow! Aren't those sheets worth like $4,000 each. Not a bad free gift! And surprisingly those sets at $11,000 will sell out very quick.

With these notes entering the market, isn't the value of the "X" notes going to take a dive?
Or the fact that they are still in sheets won't have any effect on the value, as most will remain intact (unless someone cuts the bills as singles)?

The value should decline with the extra supply made available.  Some coin collectors are not paper money collectors so they could sell them on the secondary market.

Mint-issued BRX $2s have very low value anyway, compared to circulation notes.  I don't suppose the release of these sheets would have much of an impact on the individual note price, if they were cut up.

Were these sheets considered mint issue or circulation issue?? Being mint issued if they were to be cut they'd be worth much less as an individual mint issue BRX note is pretty much worthless when compared to the actual circulation issue. This is where buyers most beware and make sure that they buy the right BRX in the right range! I am assuming that these new sheets should be within the range that already exist.
