I had the privilege to photograph what is undoubtedly the most complete privately owned collection of Bank Legals.  Since most collectors will never have a chance to handle to view these notes in person I thought I would share them here.

1896 $500 Issue

This face and back proof are the only privately owned examples of this issue:

Amazing art and design.  That fragment is interesting and the history would be cool to know.  Thanks for sharing

Nice - These are not in BoC museum collection?

Wonder what paper money would say if it could talk?

The notes shown are from a private collection.  Many of these are the notes featured in the CGPM catalogue.  The BoC does have some of the notes that are missing such as the 1896 specimens.  I assume that the BoC also has duplicates of most of these notes but I'm not exactly sure what their collection contains.
