Hi All,
As I am reviewing notes I got from the bank today, I am wondering if anyone is still finding mis-matched serial numbers in new issue notes or with advancements in computerized quality control, has the Mint eliminated this note error ever going into circulation?
Also wondering, if one does get into circulation wouldn't the scan feature in the Automated Cash Dispensers in banks identify a mis-matched serial number as abnormal and reject it? Would be very interested in what exactly those CDMs actually 'do' when scanning notes such as what features are they looking at and why, if anyone has any info on this.
Cheers,
B
PS. Some people used to "brick" in attempts to establish what notes could be replacement notes. Is anyone still doing Bricking?
