The Curmudgeon's Guide to Currency Grading

Don't know if this has been posted before, but I found it rather amusing.

"What we offer here is a grading guide that's consistent with the notes being sold at web auction to people who don't know better.  For the most part, the terminology is the same as for normal currency grading, although the standards differ wildly."

That is hilarious!  You know though, it is funny because it is true for alot of cases (sadly).

As was pointed out to me by an old hand of Internet auctions and I quote "Ebay is a place where the dumb sell to the dumber"
To which I responded "hay, hoo r U kalllin dum !?"

I like this part:
Error Note
   Three types of error notes are commonly offered for sale at auction: 1) The note was damaged while being bleached; 2) The seller has painted the image of another note over segments of this note; 3) The note was bought as part of an uncut sheet of notes from the treasury, and intentionally miscut.

Guess what? There's at least three such notes on eBay right now! And despite the auction description saying they are not real errors, the title and remainder of the description imply that they're really something. Talk about dumb selling to the dumber! Sheesh!

Funny, but pretty silly.  
I wonder about no comments about 3rd party grading?

I understand some of the big guys in coin grading are now or are about to offer paper money slabbing. Anyone hear anything about this?
