The serial number matches to what the signatures are, but without looking at the note personally, I cannot confirm it is authentic.

If you're referring to the back plate number, it's located to the left of the word "OSPREY" near the edge of the water, with a white background and purple font.

Which one of us should remove our illustrations? I did...

Pssh! Mine has a cool blow-up area with shadows, outlines, and a funky purple hand. That beats your ADX like a Royal Flush to a Pair of 2s. ;D

To quote Paul from another post recently, I love it when a team comes together!

I could make several dirty jokes, based on several words in your last post, BWJM... :-X

Anyway, I, with my piddly ADX, do indeed stand defeated...I shall bow out gracefully and remove my picture some time tomorrow (just so I can show off my ADX for a little while, anyway) done! :'(

Not all fake notes have wrong prefix/signatures. I have seen fakes with proper serial number/signature combos. Sometimes if the note is well circulated you may have trouble reading that same back plate no. Your best bet would be to test it with one of those UV lights. If it passes, it should be real and  i'd spend it!

UV can be faked. Check multiple security features including raised ink and microprinting for the Birds $5/$10.

Always check at least two security features. One should be feeling the raised ink by running your fingernail against the lines in the shoulder of the portrait, and the other should be a visible feature such as the watermark, split leaves in the holographic strip, windowed thread appearing solid against the light, from the new Journey notes, or microprinting on any note.

Tsk, Tsk...there are no watermarks, holographic strips or windowed threads on any of the Birds notes ::)

But you could pry off a planchette or two from a Birds note and examine the eyes in the portrait through a magnifying glass for the concentric rings that should appear in a genuine note...

Insult my ADX note at your own peril, BWJM!  ;D

What are some fake prefixes/serials for birds of canada series notes, any denomination that is

A fake prefix is any prefix that is not real, and one that does not belong on the note that it is seen on.

For example:
BEW on a Birds $20 fake
FEE on a Journey $10 real
YHS on a Journey $10 fake

FEE is a legitimate Journey $10 prefix. BEW is a prefix that is appearing on newly-issued Journey $10s right now, NOT Birds $20s. YHS is a completely fake prefix.
