Plate numbers

I have a question about plate numbers. I had always assumed that the range within notes with the same FP and BP numbers was 1000, but I am currently looking at 2 $20 ALD notes whose range is 1495 apart from each other, but with the same plate numbers. So I was wondering if anyone knew what the actual range would be.

I don't think anyone has been able to figure out exactly how many consecutive sheets BABN prints before a change. I did find a range of 6000 AY, with the same plate numbers, early last year.

Gilles and I were just talking about this the other day.  I will try to give him a call and get the info on this.  
Oh- and I have never seen a plate number as a single digit. They are 11 and up is that correct?  Ie: for $10s, they would go from 11 to 55?

You are correct, there are no single-digit position numbers.

There were single digit plate numbers on the 1967 notes.  What about the '54 series?

Another Question  -  when are these numbers considered to be plate numbers and when are they position numbers?

Sometime during the Multicoloured series. Look for plate numbers reaching above the 100 range, but position numbers only from 11-55.
