There is a 1954 $1 Devils Head Note on Ebay right now (Beattie-Coyne). This note is said to be in gem Unc condition and books at $5,500. Item Number: 290246282931

There is also a 1954 $20 Devils Head Note on Ebay (Coyne-Towers), from the same seller. This listing does not say the grade but it looks like a VF. This note would book around $3,500 if it is in VF condition.

The not was listed as GEM Unc on E-Bay.

Didn't look GEM to me.. Most likely AU like you said.

I dunno about you but if I was selling a rare note like that I would have LOTS of pictures with good detail to attract Serious buyers.

He only had a couple photos and not nearly close enough to spot flaws.

Still sold for quite a bit.
