Item # 220359898830 on ebay is for an APM $5 note where the seller is claiming that the BOC has confirmed that the APM is a changeover
He states that it is in " the low range 0000000 - 0449998 "
Does anyone have any FACTS that would backup this since I have only heard rumours.
Any info is much appreciated

This and a couple other changeovers will be included in the March CPMS newsletter.

Especially because I'm the proud owner of one such APM in EF-AU condition. Come on, rare changeover, rare changeover, daddy needs a nice rare note!

I received this last week, but forgot to post it

In response to your inquiry, the first note, marked "Printed in 2008", with Jenkins/Carney signatures from BA International is APN 0000000, and the last Jenkins/Dodge note, marked "Printed in 2006" is APM 0449998.

Looks like anyone who has a $5 APM prefix has a collector's item.

It's definitely not going to see light in my region ever.  :'(

I see a pattern with new signature notes nowadays.  They likely end the former signatures in the midst of the final prefix, and the first notes with the new signatures starts with a zero note.  I can see why there are no FMJ $50s in the 5 Million range or above.  And it's quite possible that ELU may be the first $20 prefix with the new signatures.

I wonder if the new signatures for the $10s eventually will begin with BTV 0000000 or FEW 0000000; and for the $100s, BKN 0000000 or EJT 0000000?

20$

-- First print in 2007 is CBN-ELF 3700000
-- Last print 2007 with signatures Jenkins/Dodge CBN-ELT 1799999
-- First print in 2008 awith signatures Jenkins/Carney CBN-ELU 0000000

GOOD GUESS and ELU is the winner

Sylvie says the last APM is 0449998.     98.

Do I assume that 0449999 is in the currency collection and when she says 98, that is the last one in circulation?  OR for some strange reason, the 0449999 note was not printed?  It's a minor thing; I'm just curious.

There is a thin line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'.

The --99 note was not issued (either not printed, or destroyed). This has happened a few times in the past. Check the Journey Series Changeover Update in the latest copy of the CPMS newsletter for more examples.

The Bank has specified "not printed" vs. "not issued" on various occasions, but I do not recall the specifics for this case. Mind you, I don't really see why it matters, personally. The note never hit circulation, and one way or another does not presently exist.

If 0449998 was the last surviving note, it should be the one in the museum.  I believe 0449999 was printed but was either defective or became damaged after printing, and was in any case taken out and destroyed.  This sort of thing has happened before - see the last 1991 $20 Thiessen-Crow AIX for example.  (In this case we know that AIX2039999 was damaged and destroyed. - see CPMS Newsletter Dec. 1995 p. 124)
