Any idea. i have recently found this note in VF condition in the 0000001 to 0079999 range.

I'm selling a $2 G/R 1954  BC-38bt BE-RA (VG) Test note in the 0000001-0079999 range.

Sorry, is that VF, or VG?

in VG probably $4,000-$6,000. There aren't really any defined prices for this note because its so rare.

Where did that price come from? Catalogue value for a VG G/R note is $2500, which is consistent with observed sale prices over the last couple of years for the few notes that are actually out there. For one particular note, the sale price on it was about $2.50!

Has an image of the purported note been posted somewhere? Has the serial number been reported somewhere? If not, why not?  Why are we spending all this time discussing a note that has not yet been proven to exist?! I was under the impression that this Forum exists in order to facilitate the exchange of useful information to other members. Sorry, but that's just the way I feel .... Come on Mortgage Guy, do the right thing!

I'm an entertaining offers to serious buyers which theirs none.

I think the real issue is that I can't see anyone making a serious offer on something they can't see....it's like getting a mail order bride OOPS (Probably a NO NO).
I think the fact is that it is more likely you will get low offers if any because people will be reluctant to offer and then have to revoke the offer once they see the note.
Buying notes in TPG holders can be risky even when you see it, but buying a note in a SDB is likely more risky....
This is in no way meant as an insult, but personally I would never make an offer on something I can't see.....Only my opinion of course.

If you could please send me a scan of the note, I will judge for myself the condition of the note and determine whether or not I wish to submit an offer, and at what price.

Like friedsquid said, people are not going to make an offer on a note when you can't even consistently describe the note (VG vs. VF above), and when there is no scan available. Condition makes all the difference, and on a tough note like this, the difference in price between a VG and a VF could be thousands of dollars. Those who decide not to give an offer (or even an estimate of value) without being able to see the note are probably being quite wise, in my opinion.

So it seems that there is a new G/R note appearing in the June 2009 Torex auction, lot 822A. Any relation to your note, Mortgage Guy?

I still don't see why you are being reluctant to post your serial number here.
