Received my BC-1a today ChUnc63.

I cannot see embossing on the signatures or serial numbers. Though "BANK OF CANADA"  and the 1 in the centre of the note fell textured (ie: not pressed).
Is this Original or Pressed ??

Comments welcomed.

Not all 1935 series notes have heavy embossing and this one could well be 63 without much. If you can fee some embossing on the note, chances are it's original. The series with the heaviest embossing overall is the 1954 devils-face issue. Although on earlier series embossing is nice, it's not mandatory on an uncirculated note. You can also tell on a 1935 note that if it's been pressed if there's a shininess on the printing. Although there may not be heavy embossing, undisturbed ink will not be flat, thus showing the slight shiny appearance...
