Hi, there. :)

I am creating this thread a few hours before the new $50 is officially released, just out of anticipation of the new note.  Would somebody please let us know who has the new $50 and what they plan to do with it, and what bank you got them from? :)

Later!  Jonathan  ;)

I've been fairly quiet on the matter, but you really should work on making sure that you have some substance to your posts before you post stuff.  Thanks. ;)

Yes, and always making sure you have evidence to back up what you're saying.  Should be a forum rule. :)

I believe it would be covered under the following proposed rule:

I got them this morning at 9:00. They are AHB3247634-637. The teller would give me only 4. But I'm happy I got them this morning. They were from BMO main branch in downtown Toronto.

How come the teller would only give you four of the new $50's??

She said "We have to save them for other customers", I wanted 10 of them. I went to the other 4 banks in the downtown core, and none of them had it.

Canadahk, you've made a point.  When the new fiver was issued in 2002, a lot of banks would only give me four of them.  Luckily, when I went to the CIBC the day after the $5 release, I asked the friendly teller if she had the new fives.  She did, and I asked her for twenty of them.  She gave them to me in one single transaction, although most banks would only give out a maximum of four per customer, per day, immediately after release.  IMO, "first come, first served", is what it should be when a new bill gets released, but yes, canadahk, you made a very good point.

However, I don't plan on going to the bank myself until at least Friday.  But wouldn't it be kind of cool for me to get a crisp bill for every denomination of the Journey's?

Bye 4our Now, Jonathan :)

I awaited the new $50 because of the excitement of the completion of Journey. I had spent the weeks before going to banks to look for crisp $100, $10, $5 bills. I didn't save any UNC ones, and deposited them before. Now, I have a UNC of the bills, and they look really nice now, with the touch of red from the $50. The $50 is really great in person, M. King stand out very well, and looks lifelike.
