Guess I was wrong Feb is $10.00 March maybe $7.00   :)
Interesting to know what these notes will actually end up in the catalogue for since bricks/bundles/and consecutive runs in Gem are being found now...
Any guesses....

Who cares.  The catalogue is a work of fiction. I care to know the pricing panel's opinion as much as I care to know if unicorns make rainbow-coloured turds.  The value is whatever you can get for these notes at any moment in time.  If I had any of these notes, I would list consecutive pairs on eBay starting at $18 and let the bidders decide how much they go for.

What I am more interested in is how the grade of Gem Uncirculated is designated for polymer notes.  While just about everyone else calls new consecutive notes "Gem", I find that lots of new notes have hairline scratches on the holographic strip, thus making me quite reluctant to use the word "Gem".  But that's another subject for another thread.

With the market now nearly flooded for these notes, I can see Carney HBG becoming more common than Poloz HBG, with prices approaching that of common notes. Kind of like the 1867 1967 $1 notes.

No need to keep these in a safe... These notes are no longer rare, there are over 3 million of these circulating now. They are selling on eBay for $20-25 in Unc condition, and the price is likely to drop further.

Well it appears they have become common in a really short amount of time.  I actually found my first one today and wasn't really that surprised based on how many are starting to pop up online now.  Still cool though since its my first one  :)

I've been keeping all M/C 2013 $5s I receive in circulation, but are circulated ones even worth keeping anymore? I get them all the time now.

Only the one that are in UNC or better and the ones that fall in the replacement range are worth keeping otherwise they are spenders.

it always seems to take about 10 years for things to shake out. I would recommend to keep the Carney's as 3.4 M is not a big issue in general and if you look at 3 M issues, after a while Unc creep up to 4 & 5 X's face.

Regardless of the eventual price of these notes, you can still have some fun with them...

I've turned the HBG Carney hunt into a game with my friends.  They are now looking through every single five dollar bill that they come across.  They say that they hate me now because it's turned into an obsession!  :)

To date, we have collectively found seven notes in total; the most interesting serial number is 3000543.  :)

I'm keeping them all.  In Toronto, they seem to be very scarce and a couple of my friends go through hundreds of fives a day at work.

This might not be the case for this particular note as many collectors have hung onto UNC notes. There will be a lot of them on the market.
