Hey Dean,
I too love the history behind certain notes like short snorters and have been quite successful tracking signatures to real people through military records and signature style.  I'm not quite sure if you were serious when you said if only you could find out who's signature is on the T. Eaton Company bank stamp? I'm pretty sure it is Timothy Eaton's and you can check here for a likeness.

So I thought I saw something black while the notes were going through the counter at the bank, and after the teller handed me the pile I looked for it, and laughed when I found it.  I showed it to the teller and she said "oh my ... let me get you another one" and I said "No way, I've never seen this variety before". It was only after I left that I noticed the prefix.   :D  Hey Dean ... what do you think the 'story' is behind this note?
