Nice job with the G/W 7's! That's the last solid numbered $20 1954 note! Good luck finding the $100 now.  I sadly doubt even you'll be able to complete the set by acquiring the $1000 though  .

I paid 25% over book at Torex today for the following set of notes from Don Olmstead.  I was content in paying
that price since the notes are totally original, grade CUnc to GUnc and they are all solid 7s, one of the more
desirable solid numbers.

Yep, definitely worth the price.  But I still managed to get my solid 9's for a little under-book: $775.  I don't think it grades quite as nice Arthur's CUnc and GUnc solids, though.  I catalogued it as a "traditional" AU: probably about what you guys would call Unc-60.

There haven't been very many posts lately concerning sales (only purchases).  Speaking to several dealers lately, I got the impression that most were pretty desperate for some nice material.  They claimed they weren't getting any nice, older notes anymore.

I had quite a few problematic EF to AU notes, mostly processed.  I was very surprised to sell all of them, in fact recuperating all of my costs despite having bought most of these seriously over-graded. Dealers were willing to pay as high as 70 to 80% of catalogue, one grade higher in many cases than the correct grade.

A few examples:
18 consecutive $1 Devil Face (Be-Co), Original AU (four counting folds each + various handling): $1500
1937 $2, Pressed EF: $110
1954 $10 Devil Face, (Co-To) Pressed, Trimmed & Bleached (all noted by the buyer) EF-AU: $125
1954 $2 Devil Face (Be-Co), VERY BADLY TRIMMED Unc: $240

Definitely seems like a good time to unload some of those notes you've been itching to get rid of.

All prices were canadian dollars(after all,it does make a difference! )

A little while ago I found a 1937 $20 Gordon-Towers with the serial number H/E0036531(ChoiceUncirculated)

I paid $280

Just sold a DF $50.00 C/T in Gem Unc 66 for $2100.00

I recently got a great deal on Ebay!

1954 $20 Note Original Gem Unc for $50 with shipping!
When I recieved the note it looked better than I expected note even a mark on it.

Its book value is $105 (I think) but its probably worth a bit more considering it is original!

My parents bought me (For Graduation) a 1954 "Devils Head" $5 Note with serial number C/C 2458436.

It grades C.Unc+

It books around $650

It's made it's way to an auction, presumably sold to another collector, I assume.

Thi snote was un-graded at the time.The buyer became disheartened with the hobby,and sold off his collection.I had sold him many high priced notes,and bought back many of them,but not the *VV.I'm not aware of who he sold it too,but they obviously had it PMG'd.
