What did you get for yours?

Wonder if we might have a thread for posting the price we paid or sold a note for? As Archey asked,what was his low #'d set worth,various opinions surfaced.Yet,we see over and over prices realized for notes as FAR FAR different from the Charlton Paper Money Catalogue.
I personally have paid substantially under book for several note because of time of year,ect,and I have paid enormous premiums for Uncirculated and Uncommon (in my opinion) notes.
The purpose would not be to debate trends,guides,under-valued,or over priced,rather to post prices realized,bought or sold.
Wouldn't this be a way to keep up with what's going on in the buy/sell community from fellow collectors,traders,dealers,and fanatics ?
For instance,many post ebay sale prices here.I posted that I sold a 1954 *AM Replacement for $650. The pair of 1954 solid 5's and 6's with same sig and S/N went for $1600.00 buy it now.
Over priced or under-valued,that would not be the focus,just a place to report.
A thread to see what's happening for those who care to report.I think this could be very useful in helping us all,when considering a note to purchase.

Myself I am a Royal Bank collector and see myself paying premiums on most of my notes.

Before the 5th edition book I was paying 1400 for a VF/EF Batleship note and will continue to do so

I also recently purchased a Royal Bank $5 Trinidad note from 1938 in aFine. Books at 400 and paid 900.  It does sound like a lot but in the long run paying these prices will protect my investment and others as well.

On the other end of the spectrum I paid 750 for a 1924 Bank of NS in UNC wich now books at 1500

Now we know a recent price on a battleship note and a RB Trinidad note.As the point is not to debate prices,i WILL REFRAIN from comment,but thank you for the info.May be useful for a future purchase.

Here's another-My wife paid approx $13,000 for a GEM UNC 65 1935 $1000.00 about 9 months ago.She just sold it for $16,000.00 last week.

I just paid $1000.00 for a 1986 GOV insert in UNC.

and a 1969 *YA in AU for 175.00

I guess alot of us are embarassed to admit how much they actually paid for their notes  

okay I will admit one. i paid recently $415 for a 3-digit radar on a 1937 $20 coyne in VF.  :-/

Hello stevepot99,thanks for giving us all your purchase for the C/T radar.

I think we need to keep this thread,if implemented, to the current calender year.The idea being a current Trends of sorts.Although not precise,or the pulse of the over-all market,it does give buyers and sellers a idea of any given note that praticular day.

Again,one of the rules would be no commenting on prices,good or bad.Not to replace the Charlton,which could not and should not be done imo,yet a place to record the "NOW' of the market place.

I wonder how the moderators feel about this idea? Or are they awaiting the pleassure of the forum members before expressing an opinion?
